The Transportation Master Plan for Qatar will be used by government ministries and agencies to prepare effective transportation policies and guidelines and to plan a balanced and efficient transportation system. It will also be used by developers, consultants, planners, traffic engineers, and review agencies to design and construct new transportation system networks and facilities.

Crown Consult's commission involved designing and undertaking an extensive, nationwide survey programme in support of the 2020 update to the Transportation Master Plan. This involved:

• Traffic and travel behavior surveys
• Data processing, validation, and an alysis
• Derivation of robust transportation statistics and modelling parameters
• Development of an enterprise level GIS database for accessing and retrieving MOTC's transportation data.
